about

This is Mad Bread's first full album. It was recorded at Mike Slater's home studio in Chicago, Illinois. This was an early experimental phase. Songs like "Darker Waters" and "Morning Commute" are much more experimental than anything on later albums. Yet on the same album are much more traditional sounding tunes like "Southport" that point in the direction the band later goes in.

Some of the band's most requested live songs come from "Southport and Eddy" like "Miss Chicago", "The Captain's Lament" and "Country Radio".
